Heart diseases decides to attack

"Heart disease is a narrowing of the small blood vessels that supply blood and oxygen to the heart", according to the article, Coronary heart disease overview. Also in the article, its explains that it is the leading cause of death in the United States for men and women. Since it is the leading cause of death, something should be done about it. People should learn the symptoms of it to try stopping it from happening. The symptoms include  a heavy feeling in your heart under your breast bone, a sharp pain in your neck, arms, stomach, or upper back. Also pain with activity or emotion, and goes away with rest or medicine. People who catch these signs should see a doctor quick.

Also, in the short article, Get Informed, it states that heart disease is the number one killer for Americans, as the 1st article said. But it states that regular exercise decreases the chance of heart disease. People should exercise to reduce the risk of disease, improve blood pressure, blood sugar levels, blood lipid profiles, and overall heart health, maintain body weight and reduce the risk of obesity, and lastly enhance your mental well-being. It seems like exercise would almost make it impossible to catch the disease, so its important to get in the weight room fast!

Lastly, in the article, Treatments for Heart Disease, it explains that the easiest way to get cured is to either have surgery or take drug treatments. The first thing, drug treatments, can lower blood pressure or cholesterol, prevent or dissolve blood clots, or improve the strength of the heart's contractions. The second thing,Medical procedures, are used to,

"Diagnose and treat heart disease include coronary angiography, coronary artery bypass grafts, coronary angioplasty, coronary stenting, heart transplants, operations for congenital defects, surgery for heart valve defects, electro physiological treatments and implanting of cardiac defibrillator."

All those medical procedures can help in many ways and help the disease go away. In conclusion, there are millions of people with heart disease at this moment, but it can be prevented very easily. If people take care of themselves and stay healthy, they are in good shape.

All About Osgood-Schlatter Disease

In the article, What Is Osgood-Schlatter Disease?, it explains what the disease is. "Osgood-schlatter disease is an inflammation of the bone, cartilage, and/or tendon at the top of the shinbone (tibia), where the tendon from the kneecap (patella) attaches." People say that it is mainly painful when they do activities that involve running, twisting, and jumping. Sports that increase the pain would be basketball, football, volleyball, soccer, tennis, figure skating, and gymnastics. Teens say that it hurts especially after playing a sport or participating in gym, which makes sense. some wish it would stop, but it only takes time.

Also, in the article, Any hints on surviving a kid with Osgood Schlatter? Bonzo's feeling persecuted... , it explains peoples opinion about the disease. Some say that they dont want to do all the work, such as icing it, resting it, doing exercises, and taking medicine. But that will only be for the persons benefit. Some were also couch potatoes and did nothing, and when they went to participate in P.E, it bother them. I understand the pain of the disease, but working it out will only help it. One girl didn't want to rest it because she wanted to compete in gymnastics, but she knows it was right, so she did that and it helped.

Lastly, in the article, Osgood schlatter and football?, it explains the opinion on how osgood schlatter hurts this boy who plays football. He always has knee pains and thinks its annoying. People feel its better to stop the sport so the pain stops. I understnad that the disease is aggrevating because the pain hurts so bad, but they should be able to do the sport if they want to, but maybe just not like everyone else. Others say that the pain should go away in time. Doctors have observed that the only way the pain wil stop, is it the sport you are playing stops. But doctors can be wrong because people can still be cured.

Since I am experiencing the disease first hand for five years, I agree with the opinions of others. It makes things difficult to run, but especially jump. It is a disease that can go away with the strengthening of the thy muscles and time. But it is a very aggrevating disease because you cant do as much as others, even when you want to. But if you keep strong, you can get through it.

New Diseases on the Rise

In the article, New Diseases on the Rise, it states,"A new study shows that since 1940, scientists have identified 335 emerging infectious diseases in people." Back in the 1900s, people would be worried that over 300 new diseases are being discovered, but with the technology we have now, it isn't too big of a deal. Some new diseases include severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), Ebola, HIV (the virus that causes AIDS), West Nile virus, and methicillin-resistant staph (MRSA).

Many of the new diseases being found started in wildlife and are becoming much more common. A lot of the diseases discovered were made in Western countries, and those discoveries peaked in the 1980s. It seems like a lot of diseases to be discovered, but we are lucky we have many researchers on the job right after they are discovered.

Also, in the article, New animal-to-human diseases likely to increase, it explains that increased environmental disruptions and global warming are starting the new infectious diseases, according to a new study.

Over 45 diseases that have passed from animals to humans have been reported in the last twenty years, and that number is suppose to rise in future years. Like I said before, we are lucky we have the technology we have today to stop it. It's weird that so many diseases and forming. People need to be more careful.

Lastly, the last article, New Disease Discovered, talks about a specific disease and how defects are occurring in cell division. Luckily, organisms are able to repair damages on its own, even if they are serious. In this case, the damage is found and signaled to the repair system of the cell. The woman in the article was experiencing an unknown disease that scientists call "NBS-like disorder". What happens is the mutation on the disease is characterized by researchers. Although the patient can't benefit from the finding, everyone else can because researchers can find a cure.

In conclusion, its important for researchers and scientists to find new cures. It allows their jobs to be useful and to help everyone be healthy and stay alive.
